Two weeks ago I got to spend the morning with this little charmer. Jaxson recently turned one, so it was time for him to step in front of the camera to document just how dashing a fellow can look at the ripe old age of twelve months.
Such a little gentleman in that bow tie!
How adorable is this sign that Jaxson's mom Krista made for his first birthday party?!
Jaxson had surgery when he was six months old, which is a pretty tall order for such a little guy. You wouldn't know it with all of his happy smiles, but his road hasn't been without obstacles. It's interesting though - have you ever noticed how the best characters in great stories always have the most to overcome? It's often completely unfair and beyond their control, but the way these characters rise to the challenges before them makes them the best of the best - even though it's no fun to walk a road that's more difficult and complicated than the world around you. It's why we love the great characters in our favorites stories - because of how they rise to challenges and how it changes and molds them into the incredible people they are. I think maybe Jaxson and his parents are these kinds of great characters, and it leaves me feeling privileged to have crossed paths with them.
This kid. He really is the cutest thing!
Krista, it was so fun to spend time with you and Jaxson. He's adorable, and you're an incredible mother. Thanks for trusting me to capture this little snippet of his story!
